He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After having played for 13 minutes, Arndt Riester managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vikings's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arndt Riester was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Jens Ohmer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jens Ohmer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Torsten Müller scored 0-1 in the 22nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Falk Veigel, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 25 minutes into the game, Dirk Meyer was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Göschitz FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vikings the free kick. Dirk Meyer hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Benni Erdogan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Benni Erdogan struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Eberhard Cardinale didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vikings. Benni Erdogan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eberhard Cardinale read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. The supporters of Göschitz FC booed when Vikings was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stephan Leyh didn't get a good kick on the ball. Göschitz FC's Eberhard Cardinale proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save Göschitz FC from getting a goal against them. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Benni Erdogan made a kick off. Arndt Riester fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eberhard Cardinale having to interfere. Göschitz FC's Eberhard Cardinale played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benni Erdogan in the 55th minute of play. Benni Erdogan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eberhard Cardinale having to interfere. When Torsten Müller came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Göschitz FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Torsten Müller couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Vikings's Falk Veigel got control of the ball when Jens Ohmer tried to sneak it across the goal line. Arndt Riester blasted a shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eberhard Cardinale having to make a save. In the 66th minute Benni Erdogan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eberhard Cardinale saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ralf Grupe hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Eberhard Cardinale didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Benni Erdogan went, in the 74th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. In the 80th minute, Arndt Riester got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Benni Erdogan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Eberhard Cardinale tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eberhard Cardinale made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arndt Riester in the 83rd minute of play. In the 84th minute the ball was on its way in behind Göschitz FC's goalkeeper Eberhard Cardinale, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ingo Schwaiger charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ingo Schwaiger the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ingo Schwaiger kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Arndt Riester in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eberhard Cardinale saved Göschitz FC from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Benni Erdogan in the 88th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eberhard Cardinale prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Vikings getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Jonah von Dreusche hit a great ball. 96 minutes into the game, Vikings's Arndt Riester nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Eberhard Cardinale made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-1.
