After a rather tough play, Rothen's Predrag Ackermann got a free kick in the 18th minute. Rothen's Christoph Köhnen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Friedrich Juhr in the 25th minute of play. With his leg Calvin Oswald managed to avoid a goal in the 27thth minute, when Rothen's Frank Hänsel fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 29th minute Lothar Riedel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christoph Köhnen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Predrag Ackermann hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. 31 minutes into the match, Karlo Carnitz notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Rothen's Christoph Köhnen. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Christoph Köhnen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lothar Riedel in the 41st minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 42 minutes, Predrag Ackermann took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Calvin Oswald to make any attempt to save it. Eppo Koser fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Calvin Oswald having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Rothen's Predrag Ackermann got a free kick in the 46th minute. 47 minutes into the game, Karlo Carnitz cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Christoph Köhnen was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Frank Hänsel to make the kick off. Rothen's Christoph Köhnen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karlo Carnitz in the 59th minute of play. After having played for 63 minutes, Robert Naber managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wemmatia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Robert Naber was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Rothen's zone, Lothar Riedel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Christoph Köhnen came out of the goal and Lothar Riedel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lothar Riedel in the 80thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Christoph Köhnen, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Christoph Köhnen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Karlo Carnitz, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eppo Koser in the 84th minute of play forced Wemmatia's goalkeeper Calvin Oswald to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lothar Riedel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christoph Köhnen having to interfere. Frank Hänsel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Calvin Oswald tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 94 played minutes Rothen got a freekick which was hit by Karl Ballhut. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Wemmatia eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
