Nat Kissling got a throw-in 26 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Dag Heß. A collision led to Neulend getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Ali Ertan Kolbow hit a great ball. Hemmo Dommert received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Gunther Kreis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Durs Grupe was extremely unlucky when he, in the 36th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 37th minute, Dag Heß made a precise shot to the right of Dante Nievelstein. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dag Heß couldn't finish the play.
