In the 7th minute, Durs Grupe made a precise shot to the right of Falk Veigel. Vikings's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Durs Grupe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Falk Veigel having to interfere. Arndt Riester sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Durs Grupe in the 19th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Falk Veigel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benni Erdogan in the 21st minute of play forced Neulend's goalkeeper Gunther Kreis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Vikings's Benni Erdogan slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Gunther Kreis. That made the score 1-1 after 24 minutes of play. After 27 played minutes Vikings got a freekick which was hit by Stephan Leyh. Gunther Kreis made an important save on a dangerous shot by Stephan Leyh in the 29th minute. With a little luck, Neulend's Gunther Kreis got control of the ball when Benni Erdogan tried to sneak it across the goal line. Dag Heß recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gunther Kreis made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Stephan Leyh sent off a good shot on target. In the 43rd minute, Arndt Riester got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Stephan Leyh came free with the goalkeeper in the 45th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Gunther Kreis could save by the left post. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The supporters of Neulend booed when Vikings was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adolf Holzheuer didn't get a good kick on the ball. Neulend's Dag Heß got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Benni Erdogan struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Gunther Kreis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vikings. When Nat Kissling fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Neulend's protests and gave Nat Kissling a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Neulend's Nat Kissling got a free kick in the 61st minute. Stephan Leyh hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Durs Grupe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 67 minutes into the match, Neulend's goal looked a bit too open when Arndt Riester came free, but Gunther Kreis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gunther Kreis came out of the goal in the 68th minute to try and stop a shot by Vikings's Benni Erdogan. But to his dismay, Benni Erdogan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. If Durs Grupe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Neulend's Heinz Schmieta got a free kick in the 76th minute. Adolf Holzheuer took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 78th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Gunther Kreis. Neulend's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benni Erdogan in the 79th minute of play forced Neulend's goalkeeper Gunther Kreis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Durs Grupe blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Falk Veigel having to make a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Arndt Riester managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vikings's supporters rose to their feet, but Arndt Riester was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gunther Kreis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dag Heß received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Falk Veigel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gunther Kreis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stephan Leyh in the 93rd minute of the match. In the 95th minute, Arndt Riester hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Vikings players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
