Hakan Diehm hit a great ball. 18 minutes into the match, 1.FC BAYERN's goal looked a bit too open when Norman Kreuz came free, but Christoph Bollerey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jules Edinger charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jules Edinger the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After having played for 22 minutes, Marco Vosswinkel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. 1.FC BAYERN's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marco Vosswinkel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jules Edinger hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. The 1.FC BAYERN fans' excitement grew in the 24th match minute when 1.FC BAYERN's Jannes Thommes looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. If Felix Gerstenmaier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Christof Kier was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 31 minutes into the match. In the 33rd minute there was a penalty for 1.FC BAYERN. Hakan Diehm stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Niklas Kala. 0-2. In the 40th minute, Felix Gerstenmaier got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 45th minute there was a penalty for 1.FC BAYERN. Hakan Diehm stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Niklas Kala. 0-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jannes Thommes made a kick off. Niklas Kala stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jannes Thommes's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. Jannes Thommes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of 1.FC BAYERN booed when Unterhaching was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Norman Kreuz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jannes Thommes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Niklas Kala tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Felix Gerstenmaier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jannes Thommes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Niklas Kala having to interfere. Klaus Czerwinski's late challenge caught a 1.FC BAYERN's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Klaus Czerwinski helped the player get up and apologised. In the 67th minute, Klaus Czerwinski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 72 minutes into the match, 1.FC BAYERN's Marco Vosswinkel sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Niklas Kala narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Niklas Kala made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marco Vosswinkel in the 73rd minute. 76 minutes into the game, Unterhaching's Quincy Sieben nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Christoph Bollerey made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. Marco Vosswinkel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Unterhaching's zone, Marco Vosswinkel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Niklas Kala came out of the goal and Marco Vosswinkel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jules Edinger recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Niklas Kala showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jannes Thommes in the 95th minute of the match. The 1.FC BAYERN supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing 1.FC BAYERN would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
