Spectators: 7534 (Terracing: 5652, Seating: 1732, VIP seats: 150) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Frank Hänsel made the kick off which started today's match. Karl Ballhut fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Falk Veigel having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arndt Riester in the 6th minute of play forced Rothen's goalkeeper Christoph Köhnen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 10th minute the ball was on its way in behind Rothen's goalkeeper Christoph Köhnen, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Arndt Riester recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 16th minute Arndt Riester shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christoph Köhnen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 17th minute of the match Matthias Grüner shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Christoph Köhnen showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Frank Hänsel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Frank Hänsel blasted a shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Falk Veigel having to make a save. Rodolfo Michelbach kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. After 28 played minutes, Rothen's Ephraim Junginger shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Falk Veigel came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Rothen reached it. Rothen's Frank Hänsel got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Frank Hänsel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Arndt Riester in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Christoph Köhnen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arndt Riester in the 39th minute of play forced Rothen's goalkeeper Christoph Köhnen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Christoph Köhnen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benni Erdogan in the 43rd minute of the match. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Benni Erdogan to strike the kick off in the second half. Karl Ballhut received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Falk Veigel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Frank Hänsel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. With a little luck, Rothen's Christoph Köhnen got control of the ball when Arndt Riester tried to sneak it across the goal line. Frank Hänsel might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Falk Veigel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Frank Hänsel ran back to his position shaking his head. Predrag Ackermann recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 68th minute, Benni Erdogan reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Christoph Köhnen. The goal made the score 0-1. Benni Erdogan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 78 played minutes Rothen got a freekick which was hit by Karlheinz Kolter. In the 79th minute, Arndt Riester ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Christoph Köhnen was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Christoph Köhnen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benni Erdogan in the 82nd minute of play. Stephan Leyh charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Stephan Leyh the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Rothen's Christoph Köhnen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save Rothen from getting a goal against them. Stephan Leyh kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Benni Erdogan charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Benni Erdogan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 94 minutes of play, Rothen's Predrag Ackermann made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Falk Veigel was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 97th minute, Karl Ballhut made a precise shot to the right of Falk Veigel. Vikings's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. When the referee ended the match the Rothen players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
