Spectators: 7259 (Terracing: 5610, Seating: 1500, VIP seats: 149) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Hemmo Dommert got the match started through his kick off. Dante Nievelstein came out of the goal in the 2nd minute to try and stop a shot by FC Ratingen's Herbert Osterhagen. But to his dismay, Herbert Osterhagen quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 6th minute, Kees Loyen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in FC Ratingen's zone, Hemmo Dommert stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lauritz Roedel came out of the goal and Hemmo Dommert tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dante Nievelstein took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gerke Hellwig, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 10th minute Herbert Osterhagen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Nievelstein saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Trochtelfingen getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Peter Gehling hit a great ball. 15 minutes into the match, Trochtelfingen's goal looked a bit too open when Herbert Osterhagen came free, but Dante Nievelstein reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dante Nievelstein made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manuel Wüst in the 17th minute of play. 18 minutes into the match, Hemmo Dommert had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lauritz Roedel. FC Ratingen's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hemmo Dommert was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After 21 played minutes FC Ratingen got a freekick which was hit by Gerke Hellwig. The supporters of Trochtelfingen booed when FC Ratingen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Friedemann Presser didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gerke Hellwig sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. FC Ratingen's Herbert Osterhagen got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 30 minutes into the game, Harald Fackiner threw the ball into play from the sideline. Trochtelfingen's Pascal Wörner quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Trochtelfingen's Dante Nievelstein played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gerke Hellwig in the 33rd minute of play. 37 minutes into the match, Trochtelfingen's Hemmo Dommert sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lauritz Roedel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With 41 minutes on the clock, Reinhart Krüger commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 46 minutes into the match, Trochtelfingen's goal looked a bit too open when Gerke Hellwig came free, but Dante Nievelstein reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Herbert Osterhagen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dante Nievelstein was relentless in the 48th minute of the game. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Herbert Osterhagen was the one to do the kick off. When Manuel Wüst fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Ratingen's protests and gave Manuel Wüst a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Trochtelfingen booed when FC Ratingen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manuel Wüst didn't get a good kick on the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 56 minutes, Dante Nievelstein successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Harald Fackiner's late challenge caught a Trochtelfingen's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Harald Fackiner didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gerke Hellwig succeeded in the game's 65th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-3. Trochtelfingen's defense didn't have a chance, in the 73rd minute, when Herbert Osterhagen scored to the left of an out of position Dante Nievelstein, making the score, 1-4. Gerke Hellwigs short, quick shot in the 78thth minute got Dante Nievelstein to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Dante Nievelstein showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Herbert Osterhagen, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Pascal Wörner sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 89 minutes of play, FC Ratingen's Gerke Hellwig made it 1-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dante Nievelstein was left in no man's land by his defense there! Dante Nievelstein made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Gerke Hellwig sent off a good shot on target. When Peter Gehling fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Trochtelfingen's protests and gave Peter Gehling a yellow card for diving instead. In the 93rd minute, Peter Gehling hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The FC Ratingen players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
