After 9 minutes, Reinhart Krüger mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Trochtelfingen and the Göschitz FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Trochtelfingen getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Reinhart Krüger hit a great ball. After 15 played minutes Göschitz FC got a freekick which was hit by Stefan Zirwes. If Hemmo Dommert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Göschitz FC's Eberhard Cardinale got control of the ball when Hemmo Dommert tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Torsten Müller had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 26 minutes into the match, Torsten Müller notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Trochtelfingen's Dante Nievelstein. Dante Nievelstein was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 40th minute, Hemmo Dommert got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 43rd minute Hemmo Dommert shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eberhard Cardinale saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Göschitz FC's Eberhard Cardinale got control of the ball when Peter Gehling tried to sneak it across the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Waldemar Ehlen kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Eberhard Cardinale. That made the score 2-1 in the 48 minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Yildiray Gaitanzis during the 54th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jens Ohmer could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Dante Nievelstein made a huge save. Dante Nievelstein took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Torsten Müller, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Göschitz FC's zone, Hemmo Dommert stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eberhard Cardinale came out of the goal and Hemmo Dommert tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Göschitz FC's Eberhard Cardinale played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hemmo Dommert in the 74th minute of play. The supporters of Göschitz FC booed when Trochtelfingen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pascal Wörner didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hemmo Dommert received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Eberhard Cardinale tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dante Nievelstein came out of the goal in the 82nd minute to try and stop a shot by Göschitz FC's Torsten Müller. But to his dismay, Torsten Müller quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. Eberhard Cardinale made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hemmo Dommert in the 89th minute of play. Hemmo Dommert sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 97th minute, Hemmo Dommert got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Trochtelfingen had played much better football throughout.
