Claus Irgang showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Levent Schurer, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Klaus Wolter to make the kick off. In a very dangerous position, a player in Smadi fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 53rd minute. Penalty! 57 minutes into the game, Klaus Wolter cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Michail Zuydtwyck was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Christian Vucevic fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claus Irgang having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Profi FC's zone, Christian Vucevic stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Claus Irgang came out of the goal and Christian Vucevic tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 67th minute of the match Arne Peschke sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Michail Zuydtwyck skillfully saved the ball. Claus Irgang took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christian Vucevic, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Christian Vucevic struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Claus Irgang didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Smadi.
