The supporters of Hallescher FC Chemie booed when FC Mikel was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patrick Farber didn't get a good kick on the ball. 25 minutes into the match, Umberto Husserl had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Johannes Kunter. FC Mikel's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Umberto Husserl was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. When Hendrik Westerman came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the FC Mikel fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hendrik Westerman couldn't finish the play. After 38 played minutes FC Mikel got a freekick which was hit by Björn Vielmann. FC Mikel's Dennis Mam Rostami Boukani got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 48th minute, Hallescher FC Chemie's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Rainer Paschen fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hendrik Westerman stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Dennis Mam Rostami Boukani made a precise shot to the right of Konrad Frieb. Hallescher FC Chemie's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dennis Mam Rostami Boukani in the 59th minute of play forced Hallescher FC Chemie's goalkeeper Konrad Frieb to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 74th minute, Lion Mittner hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Hendrik Westerman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of Hallescher FC Chemie booed when FC Mikel was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rainer Paschen didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 82nd minute Dennis Mam Rostami Boukani shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Konrad Frieb saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Hallescher FC Chemie's zone, Hendrik Westerman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Konrad Frieb came out of the goal and Hendrik Westerman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
