The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Theodor Behnke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 5 minutes into the match, Storp's Hansjörg Kala sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Herrmann Kanoneks narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 7th minute, Hansjörg Kala got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 8th minute, Heiko Hoffner hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 9th minute Manfred Bühler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Harold Gelb saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Harold Gelb showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valentin Heinrichs, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hansjörg Kala in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Herrmann Kanoneks prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Valentin Heinrichs came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the LTSC Wasserbillig fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Valentin Heinrichs couldn't finish the play. If Valentin Heinrichs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 30 played minutes, LTSC Wasserbillig's Willi Renz shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Harold Gelb came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in LTSC Wasserbillig reached it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manfred Bühler in the 33rd minute of play forced Storp's goalkeeper Harold Gelb to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Theodor Behnke struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Herrmann Kanoneks didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Storp. After 42 minutes, Martin Bäcker made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Storp's Harold Gelb tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When Gerd Winitzki fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Storp's protests and gave Gerd Winitzki a yellow card for diving instead. After 46 played minutes Storp got a freekick which was hit by Gerd Winitzki. After the first half LTSC Wasserbillig were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hansjörg Kala made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Storp's zone, Ellis Kuhlins stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Harold Gelb came out of the goal and Ellis Kuhlins tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Valentin Heinrichs succeeded in the game's 52nd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-2. Hansjörg Kala recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Harold Gelb took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valentin Heinrichs, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Valentin Heinrichs might have been able to make a better finish in the 67th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Harold Gelb. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Valentin Heinrichs ran back to his position shaking his head. Manfred Bühler got in the 69th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Harold Gelb handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. 71 minutes into the match, Storp's Theodor Behnke sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Herrmann Kanoneks narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Harold Gelb showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valentin Heinrichs, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. After having played for 74 minutes, Manfred Bühler managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. LTSC Wasserbillig's supporters crossed their fingers, but Manfred Bühler was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as LTSC Wasserbillig's Valentin Heinrichs slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Harold Gelb. That made the score 0-3 after 76 minutes of play. LTSC Wasserbillig's Manfred Bühler got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Harold Gelb made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Manfred Bühler sent off a good shot on target. Manfred Bühler received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Harold Gelb tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Storp's Heiko Hoffner got a free kick in the 85th minute. After having played for 91 minutes, Theodor Behnke managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Storp's supporters crossed their fingers, but Theodor Behnke was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hansjörg Kala fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Herrmann Kanoneks having to interfere. When the final whistle sounded LTSC Wasserbillig left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Storp.
