Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Manfred Hertz started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. FC Lengerich 23's Manfred Hertz got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 6 played minutes Wallhausen got a freekick which was hit by Tibor Reichwein. In the 9th minute, Bastian Jelden made a precise shot to the right of Arnulf Grillemeier. Wallhausen's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 13th minute Manfred Hertz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnulf Grillemeier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 17th minute, Manfred Hertz made a precise shot to the right of Arnulf Grillemeier. Wallhausen's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. After 25 played minutes Wallhausen got a freekick which was hit by Philipp Hartwig. 30 minutes into the game, Wolfgang Hölderlin cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Arnulf Grillemeier was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 39th minute Manfred Hertz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnulf Grillemeier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 41st minute the ball was on its way in behind Wallhausen's goalkeeper Arnulf Grillemeier, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Arnulf Grillemeier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manfred Hertz in the 42nd minute of play. 44 minutes into the match, Wallhausen's goal looked a bit too open when Bastian Jelden came free, but Arnulf Grillemeier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 45th minute Manfred Hertz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnulf Grillemeier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bob Austermann was extremely unlucky when he, in the 47th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Wolfram Zellier was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 48th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Radolf Daumann. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Theodor Bothe to make the kick off. Emmerich Manegold scored 1-4 in the 52nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Wolfram Zellier, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Emmerich Manegold had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 60th minute, FC Lengerich 23's Wolfgang Hölderlin dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-5. Arnulf Grillemeier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wolfgang Hölderlin in the 71st minute of the match. 73 minutes into the match, FC Lengerich 23's Bastian Jelden sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Arnulf Grillemeier narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 74 minutes, Manfred Hertz put it in 1-6 from a short distance just to the right of Arnulf Grillemeier. Wallhausen's Arnulf Grillemeier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bastian Jelden in the 78th minute of play. The supporters of FC Lengerich 23 booed when Wallhausen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Theodor Bothe didn't get a good kick on the ball. Manfred Hertz who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 83rdth minute tested the skills of Arnulf Grillemeier when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Arnulf Grillemeier took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wolfgang Hölderlin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 89 minutes into the match, Wolfgang Hölderlin dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Arnulf Grillemeier, 1-7. 92 minutes into the game, Wolfgang Hölderlin recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Arnulf Grillemeier. Wolfgang Hölderlin showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-8. FC Lengerich 23's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
