Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 7 minutes into the match, Theodor Behnke notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of FC Lengerich 23's Wolfram Zellier. Wolfram Zellier was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Manfred Hertz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Harold Gelb having to interfere. The Storp fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Manfred Hertz to strike the kick off in the second half. Harold Gelb was left in no man's land by his defense there! The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
