After 9 played minutes Langereihe FC got a freekick which was hit by Andi Haase. 12 minutes into the match, Langereihe FC's goal looked a bit too open when Roman Haemer came free, but Klaus Fydrich reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Roman Haemer struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Klaus Fydrich didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Cevapcici. Bolo Schüttler showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Franz Pape, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. 35 minutes into the match, Roman Haemer dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Klaus Fydrich, 1-0. After 38 played minutes Langereihe FC got a freekick which was hit by Klaus Mees. If Roman Haemer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 48 minutes, Ronald Wagner managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Cevapcici's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ronald Wagner was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Roman Haemer was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind Langereihe FC's goalkeeper Klaus Fydrich, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Bolo Schüttler was out of position in the 62 minute of play, and Franz Pape capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Franz Pape really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. Langereihe FC's Klaus Fydrich played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roman Haemer in the 68th minute of play. If Ronald Wagner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 73 minutes, Franz Pape managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Langereihe FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Franz Pape was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Langereihe FC's zone, Ronald Wagner stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Klaus Fydrich came out of the goal and Ronald Wagner tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 89 minutes into the game, FC Cevapcici's Ronald Wagner nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Klaus Fydrich made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Klaus Fydrich took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roman Haemer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Roman Haemer in the 99th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Klaus Fydrich saved Langereihe FC from getting behind. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The FC Cevapcici fans cheered their team off the field, for while Langereihe FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
