Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A very good chance. 19 minutes into the match, Ignaz Göhring notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of FCWesel's Marc Waidner. Marc Waidner was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ignaz Göhring might have been able to make a better finish in the 24th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marc Waidner. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ignaz Göhring ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 47th match minute, FCWesel was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Herbert Hemling to maneuver through the defense. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Matthias Thielen to make the kick off. Christoph Wolterss short, quick shot in the 53rdth minute got Marc Waidner to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Rufus Mendelsohn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marc Waidner having to interfere. Alflen FSV were furious when Micha-Alexander Matheis was red carded, 58 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 58 minutes into the game, one of Alflen FSV:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Marc Waidner came out and tried to block the shot, but Emanuel Kohler slotted it home off the left post making it 2-3 in the 90th minute. Karim Scheuerlein didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Matthias Thielen went, in the 93rd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-3 was the resulting score. If Herbert Hemling had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
