In the 13th match minute, Dölzschen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claes Fabian to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dante Mersmann in the 16th minute of play forced Dölzschen's goalkeeper Frank-Dieter Reißig to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dante Mersmann received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Frank-Dieter Reißig came out and tried to block the shot, but Dante Mersmann slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 26th minute. If Guillaume Pronold had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Gerd Walloch fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adriano Knorra having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Guillaume Pronold's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Adriano Knorra was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. 40 minutes into the game, Renato Thaumüller cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Adriano Knorra was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Renato Thaumüller fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adriano Knorra having to interfere. After the first half Dölzschen were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The supporters of FC Piggie booed when Dölzschen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claes Fabian didn't get a good kick on the ball. Frank-Dieter Reißig took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pinkas Reiland, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. FC Piggie's Adriano Knorra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Renato Thaumüller in the 59th minute of play. A collision led to Dölzschen getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Guillaume Pronold hit a great ball. Nicolai Domeier's late challenge caught a Dölzschen's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nicolai Domeier helped the player get up and apologised. In the 63rd match minute, FC Piggie was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicolai Domeier to maneuver through the defense. 65 minutes had been played when some careless play by FC Piggie's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Renato Thaumüller was slow to take the kick. During this time Dölzschen's players had a chance to rest. It was a well-played corner which Yves Lantzen managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Renato Thaumüllers short, quick shot in the 68thth minute got Adriano Knorra to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Frank-Dieter Reißig made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eilert von Puttkammer in the 70th minute of play. Dustin Borkowski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adriano Knorra having to interfere. After 75 played minutes FC Piggie got a freekick which was hit by Hagen Buch. In the 78th minute, Renato Thaumüller got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 87 minutes into the game, Hagen Buch cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-3. Frank-Dieter Reißig was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 94th minute Dante Mersmann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frank-Dieter Reißig saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dustin Borkowski hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match.
