An unexpectedly hard shot by Henning Walloch in the 63rd minute of play forced Kölner Sportverein's goalkeeper Carl Bauriegel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 69th minute of the game. One of Thalbach FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Kölner Sportverein:s goal. The goalkeeper, Maximilian Bromme, was totally fooled by Kölner Sportverein's Kurt Rose, who 71 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side.
