In the 4th minute Godo Schirp shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Curt Zutt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Panos Kalokerinos fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored RB Leipzig's protests and gave Panos Kalokerinos a yellow card for diving instead. After 6 played minutes RB Leipzig got a freekick which was hit by Panos Kalokerinos. If Godo Schirp had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 19 minutes into the match, Panos Kalokerinos notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Niederkell's Curt Zutt. Curt Zutt was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 22nd minute, Torbjörn Ruhnau got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Torbjörn Ruhnau managed to get in a good position for a shot. RB Leipzig's supporters rose to their feet, but Torbjörn Ruhnau was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Curt Zutt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 25 minutes into the match, Torbjörn Ruhnau had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Curt Zutt. Niederkell's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Torbjörn Ruhnau was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. In a very dangerous position, a player in RB Leipzig fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 32nd minute. Penalty! 35 minutes into the match, Torbjörn Ruhnau had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Curt Zutt. Niederkell's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Torbjörn Ruhnau was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. After a defensive mix-up in Niederkell's zone, Panos Kalokerinos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Curt Zutt came out of the goal and Panos Kalokerinos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the Niederkell defense, Godo Schirp kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Curt Zutt. The Niederkell fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Curt Zutt should have stopped the shot. After 47 minutes of play, RB Leipzig's Torbjörn Ruhnau made it 0-7 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Curt Zutt was left in no man's land by his defense there! Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-7 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Godo Schirp to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Godo Schirp reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Curt Zutt. The goal made the score 0-8. If Torbjörn Ruhnau had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Godo Schirp in the 63rd minute of play forced Niederkell's goalkeeper Curt Zutt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 65 minutes into the match, Panos Kalokerinos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Curt Zutt. After a rather tough play, Niederkell's Rik Buchwalder got a free kick in the 83rd minute. In the 84th minute, Godo Schirp ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Curt Zutt was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-12. Torbjörn Ruhnau's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 92ndth minute, Curt Zutt skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 93rd minute Godo Schirp shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Curt Zutt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 96 minutes into the match, Niederkell's goalkeeper Curt Zutt had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Panos Kalokerinos. With his leg Curt Zutt managed to avoid a goal in the 98thth minute, when RB Leipzig's Godo Schirp fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side.
