Kasper Scholl who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 18thth minute tested the skills of Derk Hoppen when he managed to save the team from getting behind. FC-Niwki were awarded a corner in the 19th minute after Hinterm Esch FSV's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Kasper Scholl took the corner. After having played for 25 minutes, Herbert Hinz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hinterm Esch FSV's supporters crossed their fingers, but Herbert Hinz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 29th match minute, FC-Niwki was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kasper Scholl to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in FC-Niwki's zone, Konrad Pfau stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Henning Basing came out of the goal and Konrad Pfau tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 45th minute, Thomas Denzin fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Derk Hoppen, passed just outside the right post.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Herbert Hinz made a kick off. After 51 played minutes Hinterm Esch FSV got a freekick which was hit by Peter-Michael Boxberger. 53 minutes into the match, Thomas Denzin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Derk Hoppen. Hinterm Esch FSV's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Thomas Denzin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. After 61 played minutes FC-Niwki got a freekick which was hit by Ernst Grohganz. With a little luck, FC-Niwki's Henning Basing got control of the ball when Ole Striegel tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ole Striegel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A very good chance. 79 minutes into the match, Hinterm Esch FSV's goal looked a bit too open when Kasper Scholl came free, but Derk Hoppen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the Hinterm Esch FSV players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense.
