The supporters of Petrolul booed when VfB Ailingen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sievert Morchner didn't get a good kick on the ball. Achim Bockisch hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. In the 41st minute, Sievert Morchner hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. VfB Ailingen's Moritz Lütke played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Béla Deck in the 46th minute of play. In the 48th minute Petrolul were awarded a corner. Sebastian Selle went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Petrolul's corner Hartmut Breyer fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Moritz Lütke quite easily take care of the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Jo Körper received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Moritz Lütke tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Béla Deck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Linus Mattern recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Moritz Lütke showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Linus Mattern, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. 62 minutes into the game, Achim Bockisch was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. VfB Ailingen's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Petrolul the free kick. Linus Mattern fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Moritz Lütke having to interfere. Through an outstanding action, after 71 minutes, Moritz Lütke successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. A collision led to Petrolul getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Roland Wehn hit a great ball. Linus Mattern fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Moritz Lütke having to interfere. VfB Ailingen's Achim Bockisch managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Sebastian Selle in the 85 minute of the game. Béla Deck struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Moritz Lütke didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Petrolul. Linus Mattern blasted a shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Moritz Lütke having to make a save. Linus Mattern recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
