If Walther Reckmaier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wolfram Ostendorff made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kunibert Ruge in the 26th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Zaman Schwarz managed to get in a good position for a shot. RB Gladbach 93's supporters rose to their feet, but Zaman Schwarz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Reto Kassube breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Wittensand FC's Detlef Fritze got a free kick in the 59th minute. 63 minutes into the match, Walther Reckmaier dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Reto Kassube, 0-4. In the 70th minute Walther Reckmaier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reto Kassube saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 72 minutes into the match, RB Gladbach 93's goal looked a bit too open when Wilfried Ditsche came free, but Wolfram Ostendorff reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
