HSVHamburg's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SV Ringelheim the free kick. A collision led to HSVHamburg getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Paulo Bier hit a great ball. In the 25th minute, Zinédine Schlumberger made a precise shot to the right of Sascha Gehrig. SV Ringelheim's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. Georg Bauer kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. The supporters of SV Ringelheim booed when HSVHamburg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benjamin Bechmann didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half HSVHamburg were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
