That made the score 1-1 in the 12 minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 15 minutes, Zinédine Schlumberger successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 17th minute, Friedrich Ollert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 18th minute of the match Sigurd Drengenburg shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Zinédine Schlumberger showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 23rd minute Sigurd Drengenburg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zinédine Schlumberger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Stanislaus Haußmann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Markus Junker tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 33 minutes into the match, HSVHamburg's goalkeeper Zinédine Schlumberger had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Erhard Scherhag. In the 34th minute Sigurd Drengenburg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zinédine Schlumberger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Markus Junker took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulo Bier, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zinédine Schlumberger showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sigurd Drengenburg, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. 44 minutes into the game, Kornelius Hens was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. HSVHamburg's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sieverslake the free kick. Sigurd Drengenburg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sigurd Drengenburg made a kick off. When Paulo Bier came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the HSVHamburg fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulo Bier couldn't finish the play. Paulo Bier hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. When the match had gone on for 57 minutes, Sigurd Drengenburg put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Zinédine Schlumberger. Sigurd Drengenburg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sigurd Drengenburg in the 64th minute of play forced HSVHamburg's goalkeeper Zinédine Schlumberger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zinédine Schlumberger showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erhard Scherhag, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Zinédine Schlumberger showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sigurd Drengenburg in the 69th minute of the match. Erhard Scherhag scored 3-1 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Zinédine Schlumberger, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Sigurd Drengenburg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 88th minute of the match, Paulo Bier tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Markus Junker saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The audience was convinced that Erhard Scherhag's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zinédine Schlumberger was relentless in the 90th minute of the game. HSVHamburg's Zinédine Schlumberger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sigurd Drengenburg in the 93rd minute of play. Zinédine Schlumberger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dennis Zichmann in the 96th minute of play. Sieverslake's defense didn't have a chance, in the 97th minute, when Paulo Bier scored to the left of an out of position Markus Junker, making the score, 3-2. Sieverslake's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
