Jascha Faber could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Sebald Popp made a huge save. When Simon Knopf fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kickers Lintfort's protests and gave Simon Knopf a yellow card for diving instead. Mathias Berres blasted a shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mattias Froehlich having to make a save.
