An unexpectedly hard shot by Manfred Manzewski in the 37th minute of play forced Fürweiler FC's goalkeeper Calvin Josten to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Calvin Josten came out of the goal in the 46th minute to try and stop a shot by Kickers Lintfort's Louis Michel. But to his dismay, Louis Michel quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Detlef Wischermann to make the kick off. Calvin Josten showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manfred Manzewski, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. The supporters of Fürweiler FC booed when Kickers Lintfort was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sebastian Danczyk didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Kickers Lintfort's zone, Piero Haunstein stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mattias Froehlich came out of the goal and Piero Haunstein tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Detlef Wischermann's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mattias Froehlich was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Romed Feldmann managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fürweiler FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Romed Feldmann was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mattias Froehlich breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kickers Lintfort's Mattias Froehlich played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Detlef Wischermann in the 83rd minute of play. When Jascha Faber fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kickers Lintfort's protests and gave Jascha Faber a yellow card for diving instead. Jascha Faber hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. After 90 minutes of play, Fürweiler FC's Piero Haunstein made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mattias Froehlich was left in no man's land by his defense there! Romed Feldmann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Fürweiler FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
