Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Ariel Renger kicked off to start the match. With 4 minutes on the clock, Zeno Krieger commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 6th minute there was a penalty for Union Berlin. Flavio Ritter stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Reiner Jaksch. 1-0. Reiner Jaksch showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ariel Renger in the 10th minute of the match. In the 19th match minute, Union Berlin was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andy Dittrich to maneuver through the defense. When Ariel Renger came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Union Berlin fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ariel Renger couldn't finish the play. 25 minutes into the match, Jeerhof FSV's goalkeeper Reiner Jaksch had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hermann Zwingel. In the 30th match minute, Union Berlin was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hermann Zwingel to maneuver through the defense. After 31 played minutes Jeerhof FSV got a freekick which was hit by Heiko Sill. In the 36th minute, Heiko Sill hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ariel Renger in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Reiner Jaksch prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Reiner Jaksch took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ariel Renger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. James Schmieta hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. After having played for 41 minutes, Ariel Renger managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Union Berlin's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ariel Renger was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Jeerhof FSV getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. James Schmieta hit a great ball. Jeerhof FSV's Reiner Jaksch played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ariel Renger in the 45th minute of play. James Schmieta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Stephane Lösekrug made a kick off. 55 minutes into the match, Hermann Zwingel had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Reiner Jaksch. Jeerhof FSV's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hermann Zwingel was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. 59 minutes into the game, Ariel Renger cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Reiner Jaksch was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to Union Berlin getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Ulrich Pentrup hit a great ball. If Ariel Renger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 66th minute Hermann Zwingel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reiner Jaksch saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 69th match minute, Union Berlin was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hermann Zwingel to maneuver through the defense. After 71 played minutes Union Berlin got a freekick which was hit by Andy Dittrich. Ulrich Pentrup kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. 77 minutes into the game, Hermann Zwingel cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Reiner Jaksch was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 81st match minute, Union Berlin was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Berthold Steidl to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Jeerhof FSV's James Schmieta got a free kick in the 82nd minute. After having played for 90 minutes, Hermann Zwingel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Union Berlin's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hermann Zwingel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Reiner Jaksch showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball.
