Thomas Bosch's late challenge caught a SSV Bremen's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SSV Bremen reached it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oliver Groh in the 7th minute of play forced Siebenbergen's goalkeeper Hansjürgen Kumpf to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 11th match minute, Siebenbergen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lennert Göttling to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 14 minutes, Oliver Groh managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SSV Bremen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Oliver Groh was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 14 played minutes Siebenbergen got a freekick which was hit by Yussuf Nachreiner. The crowd rose to their feet as Torsten Ngo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Johan Plappert. That made the score 1-0 in the 18 minute of play. If Cicero Guenther had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Torsten Ngo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Johan Plappert made a huge save. Hansjürgen Kumpf made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cicero Guenther in the 27th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Torsten Ngo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Johan Plappert. That made the score 2-0 in the 31 minute of play. 34 minutes into the match, Siebenbergen's goal looked a bit too open when Cicero Guenther came free, but Hansjürgen Kumpf reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arno Juratovic scored 2-1 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hansjürgen Kumpf, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Oliver Groh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hansjürgen Kumpf didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cicero Guenther went, in the 40th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cicero Guenther in the 46th minute of play forced Siebenbergen's goalkeeper Hansjürgen Kumpf to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Anthony Töller was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Siebenbergen's Anthony Töller nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Johan Plappert made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. With a little luck, Siebenbergen's Hansjürgen Kumpf got control of the ball when Cicero Guenther tried to sneak it across the goal line. With 62 minutes on the clock, Albert Kurtz commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Cicero Guenther received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Hansjürgen Kumpf tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bernold Dominicus kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Cicero Guenther could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Hansjürgen Kumpf made a huge save. SSV Bremen's Johan Plappert played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Torsten Ngo in the 69th minute of play. 70 minutes into the game, Siebenbergen's Torsten Ngo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Johan Plappert made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-2. Siebenbergen's Hansjürgen Kumpf proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Siebenbergen from getting a goal against them. In the 76th minute, SSV Bremen's Oliver Groh ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Hansjürgen Kumpf. Hansjürgen Kumpf yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-3. Siebenbergen's Luka Ostermann got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. SSV Bremen's Oliver Groh got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hansjürgen Kumpf made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Arno Juratovic sent off a good shot on target. Siebenbergen's Hansjürgen Kumpf played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cicero Guenther in the 88th minute of play. The supporters of SSV Bremen booed when Siebenbergen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernold Dominicus didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Oliver Groh came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the SSV Bremen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Oliver Groh couldn't finish the play. Oliver Groh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hansjürgen Kumpf having to interfere. Johan Plappert didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Torsten Ngo went, in the 96th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-4 was the resulting score. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Siebenbergen had won after a very even match.
