The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. José Römer was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Harold Frentzen showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 3 minute of play. When Simon Anmerker fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Starbulls Rosenheim's protests and gave Simon Anmerker a yellow card for diving instead. Simon Anmerker hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. Ennio Strengmann took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Harold Christann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fynn Freund recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 12 minutes into the match, Starbulls Rosenheim's goal looked a bit too open when Axel Frank came free, but Ennio Strengmann reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 12 minutes into the game, Großgerstetten's Axel Frank nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ennio Strengmann made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. In the 14th minute, Chris Götze ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ennio Strengmann was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. José Römer made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tilmann Rostock in the 18th minute. In the 22nd minute, Helmut Wiese hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 25th minute, Harold Christann made a precise shot to the right of Ennio Strengmann. Starbulls Rosenheim's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. In the 30th minute Fynn Freund shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ennio Strengmann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fynn Freund in the 31st minute of play forced Starbulls Rosenheim's goalkeeper Ennio Strengmann to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Großgerstetten's José Römer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Korbinian Zeiler in the 35th minute of play. Hagen Jäckel's late challenge caught a Starbulls Rosenheim's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hagen Jäckel helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Starbulls Rosenheim booed when Großgerstetten was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hagen Jäckel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ennio Strengmann showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fynn Freund, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute.

Fynn Freund charged in rather forcefully in the 64th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fynn Freund the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 67 minutes into the match, Großgerstetten's goal looked a bit too open when Tilmann Rostock came free, but José Römer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. José Römer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tilmann Rostock, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. 3-3 became the score in the 70th minute when Harold Frentzen elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Ennio Strengmann came out of the goal in the 79th minute to try and stop a shot by Großgerstetten's Fynn Freund. But to his dismay, Fynn Freund quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-4. José Römer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Korbinian Zeiler, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Starbulls Rosenheim's Ennio Strengmann proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save Starbulls Rosenheim from getting a goal against them. Christian Krämer was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 87 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Großgerstetten's Christian Krämer got a free kick in the 88th minute. José Römer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Harold Frentzen, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tilmann Rostock in the 93rd minute of play forced Großgerstetten's goalkeeper José Römer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Großgerstetten supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Großgerstetten would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
