When the match had gone on for 19 minutes, Oka Mangkulangit took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Daniel Heinrich to make any attempt to save it. In the 22nd minute, Joerg-Uwe Thau made a precise shot to the right of Daniel Heinrich. Football Club Leon's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. In the 46th minute Oka Mangkulangit shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daniel Heinrich saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 46 minutes into the game, Ignatius Kessen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Football Club Leon's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Trabzon the free kick. A collision led to Football Club Leon getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Ignatius Kessen hit a great ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 5-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ulryk Piatek was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 52 minutes, Ilkay Gündoğan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Trabzon's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ilkay Gündoğan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
