Spectators: 7496 (Terracing: 5500,
Seating: 1846, VIP seats: 150) FC Tomy 68's Anton Konerding started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Traugott Buchholtz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lutz Cohen in the 5th minute of the match. In the 8th minute Lutz Cohen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Traugott Buchholtz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Vincent Sandmann managed to get in a good position for a shot. Alsheim's supporters rose to their feet, but Vincent Sandmann was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wenzel Mrozewski breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Leon Mrosek blasted a shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Wenzel Mrozewski having to make a save. FC Tomy 68's Wenzel Mrozewski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vincent Sandmann in the 13th minute of play. 14 minutes into the game, Leroy Spott was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Tomy 68's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Alsheim the free kick. A collision led to FC Tomy 68 getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Leroy Spott hit a great ball. Wenzel Mrozewski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vincent Sandmann, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. If Leon Mrosek had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Siegmund Stark kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Traugott Buchholtz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anton Konerding, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. In the 30th minute, Lutz Cohen left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Tomy 68 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. In the 36th minute Lutz Cohen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Traugott Buchholtz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 37 minutes, Vincent Sandmann managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Alsheim's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vincent Sandmann was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fred Funke got free with Wenzel Mrozewski in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Leroy Spott got his second yellow card in the match during the 40th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The supporters of Alsheim booed when FC Tomy 68 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leroy Spott didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 41 minutes, Fred Funke managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Alsheim's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fred Funke was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Wenzel Mrozewski made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fred Funke in the 43rd minute.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Vincent Sandmann to make the kick off. Fred Funke received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Wenzel Mrozewski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 55th minute Vincent Sandmann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wenzel Mrozewski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wenzel Mrozewski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vincent Sandmann in the 57th minute of play. Wenzel Mrozewski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from René Bopp in the 60th minute of play. When Anton Konerding came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the FC Tomy 68 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anton Konerding couldn't finish the play. The supporters of FC Tomy 68 booed when Alsheim was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leon Mrosek didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lutz Cohen's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 67thth minute, Traugott Buchholtz skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. When the match clock showed 69 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Lutz Cohen sped through Alsheim's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Traugott Buchholtz. In the 74th minute Bülent Pradel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Traugott Buchholtz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 75th minute Vincent Sandmann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wenzel Mrozewski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Anton Konerding hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. After having played for 78 minutes, Vincent Sandmann managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Alsheim's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vincent Sandmann was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Vincent Sandmann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 85th minute Leon Mrosek shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wenzel Mrozewski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fred Funke recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Wenzel Mrozewski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vincent Sandmann in the 91st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anton Konerding in the 92nd minute of play forced Alsheim's goalkeeper Traugott Buchholtz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
