Alsheim's Traugott Buchholtz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maximilian List in the 4th minute of play. In the 6th minute Leon Mrosek shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Franco Stinner saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 8 minutes into the match, Kosbach's goal looked a bit too open when Fred Funke came free, but Franco Stinner reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Franco Stinner showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leon Mrosek in the 11th minute of the match. Traugott Buchholtz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abdelaziz Bendel in the 13th minute of play. Leon Mrosek struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Franco Stinner didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Alsheim. Franco Stinner showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fred Funke in the 16th minute of the match. In the 17th minute, Matthias Barten hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 22nd minute there was a penalty for Kosbach. Henning Schwedt stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Traugott Buchholtz. 1-0. The supporters of Alsheim booed when Kosbach was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ansgar von Scheliha didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 26 minutes, Leon Mrosek managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Alsheim's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leon Mrosek was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fred Funke in the 27th minute of play forced Kosbach's goalkeeper Franco Stinner to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Traugott Buchholtz made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Ansgar von Scheliha sent off a good shot on target. A hard shot 30 in the game by Raphael Thommes from a close distance when the talented Traugott Buchholtz managed to make a qualified save. Alsheim's players were relieved. Hartmut Link hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. If Fred Funke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alsheim's René Bopp got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Leon Mrosek fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Franco Stinner having to interfere. The Alsheim fans' excitement grew in the 39th match minute when Alsheim's Fred Funke looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. If René Bopp had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Abdelaziz Bendel was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st match minute, Alsheim was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matthias Barten to maneuver through the defense. Abdelaziz Bendel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Traugott Buchholtz having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vincent Sandmann in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Franco Stinner saved Kosbach from getting behind. 62 minutes into the game, Adalbert Losert recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Franco Stinner. Adalbert Losert showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Fred Funke sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. René Bopp scored 1-3 in the 75th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Franco Stinner, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience was convinced that Vincent Sandmann's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Franco Stinner was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. Leon Mrosek received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Franco Stinner tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alsheim's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
