Kai Hoyer was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 26th match minute, VFR Stommeln was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonathan Kunter to maneuver through the defense. In the 27thth minute of the game Torben Kentschke who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but VFR Stommeln's Remo Totti was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Asmus Glenz got his second yellow card in the match during the 29th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Asmus Glenz kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Remo Totti didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 34th minute, which inside left pole to 1-1. When Einar Betz fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Schalker's protests and gave Einar Betz a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of VFR Stommeln booed when Schalker was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Einar Betz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Remo Totti took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edson Kläsener, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
