Neubrandenburg's Arko Lau proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save Neubrandenburg from getting a goal against them. 5 minutes into the match, Neubrandenburg's goal looked a bit too open when Anthony Costa came free, but Arko Lau reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Anthony Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arko Lau having to interfere. Arko Lau made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Horst Döhler sent off a good shot on target. 16 minutes into the match, Neubrandenburg's goal looked a bit too open when Anthony Costa came free, but Arko Lau reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fritz Rudolf Bankett to make the kick off. In the 50th match minute, Neubrandenburg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rainer Maria Volkmann to maneuver through the defense. If Horst Döhler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bernd Kahlert in the 54thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Hangover 96 fans cheered their team off the field, for while Neubrandenburg had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
