In the 2nd match minute, Schachthalden was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leopold Thieme to maneuver through the defense. 4 minutes into the match, Victor Jerat notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Schachthalden's Uwe-Jens Kretschmann. Uwe-Jens Kretschmann was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a rather tough play, Borussia Dortmund's James Kienböck got a free kick in the 6th minute. If Benedikt Mackowiak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Borussia Dortmund getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. James Kienböck hit a great ball. Uwe-Jens Kretschmann showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from André Zeiss, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nils Haaf in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mathis Rippert prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, André Zeiss managed to get in a good position for a shot. Borussia Dortmund's supporters rose to their feet, but André Zeiss was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Uwe-Jens Kretschmann breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Victor Jerat fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Uwe-Jens Kretschmann having to interfere. The supporters of Schachthalden booed when Borussia Dortmund was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Norbert Kessen didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 23rdth minute of the game Nils Haaf who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Borussia Dortmund's Mathis Rippert was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victor Jerat in the 27th minute of play forced Schachthalden's goalkeeper Uwe-Jens Kretschmann to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 30 minutes into the match, Borussia Dortmund's goalkeeper Mathis Rippert had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rodolfo Rubeck. If Leopold Thieme had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Roland Lorenz fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Borussia Dortmund's protests and gave Roland Lorenz a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Borussia Dortmund's Roland Lorenz got a free kick in the 32nd minute. If Leopold Thieme had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. Nils Haaf received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Mathis Rippert tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 46th minute, James Kienböck got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Uwe-Jens Kretschmann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from André Zeiss in the 48th minute of play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Victor Jerat made a kick off. Predrag Ovekamp took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Uwe-Jens Kretschmann. Uwe-Jens Kretschmann dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, James Kienböck managed to get in a good position for a shot. Borussia Dortmund's supporters rose to their feet, but James Kienböck was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Uwe-Jens Kretschmann breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. André Zeiss sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Uwe-Jens Kretschmann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victor Jerat in the 64th minute of play. Uwe-Jens Kretschmann was out of position in the 68 minute of play, and Predrag Ovekamp capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Predrag Ovekamp really showed his touch with that goal: 1-3. With a little luck, Schachthalden's Uwe-Jens Kretschmann got control of the ball when André Zeiss tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mathis Rippert stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Leopold Thieme's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. André Zeiss fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Uwe-Jens Kretschmann having to interfere. André Zeiss's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Uwe-Jens Kretschmann read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 80th minute of play. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind Schachthalden's goalkeeper Uwe-Jens Kretschmann, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 82 minutes into the game, James Kienböck recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Uwe-Jens Kretschmann. James Kienböck showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-4. In the 88th minute Rodolfo Rubeck shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mathis Rippert saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. André Zeiss received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Uwe-Jens Kretschmann tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Victor Jerat managed to get in a good position for a shot. Borussia Dortmund's supporters rose to their feet, but Victor Jerat was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Uwe-Jens Kretschmann breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Borussia Dortmund's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
