Ergün Molau started the match with the kick off. In the 4th minute, Louis Rittel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Batho Schebesta's late challenge caught a Fokus Cölbe's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Batho Schebesta helped the player get up and apologised. After 8 played minutes CA Boca Juniors got a freekick which was hit by Batho Schebesta. Marcel Forberger showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thomas van der Walt, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. The supporters of Fokus Cölbe booed when CA Boca Juniors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christoph Hensel didn't get a good kick on the ball. 16 minutes in the game, Thomas van der Walt fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Marcel Forberger having to interfere. The supporters of Fokus Cölbe booed when CA Boca Juniors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Louis Rittel didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Thomas van der Walt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fokus Cölbe's supporters rose to their feet, but Thomas van der Walt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcel Forberger breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 20 minutes, Ergün Molau managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CA Boca Juniors's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ergün Molau was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 21st match minute, Fokus Cölbe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leopold Kobel to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 24 minutes, Louis Rittel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CA Boca Juniors's supporters crossed their fingers, but Louis Rittel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Fokus Cölbe's zone, Ergün Molau stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Patrick Kornmeier came out of the goal and Ergün Molau tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. CA Boca Juniors's Marcel Forberger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thomas van der Walt in the 28th minute of play. Louis Rittel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fokus Cölbe's Mark Scheike shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 34th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Marcel Forberger but with some difficulty. In the 38th minute, Louis Rittel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Marcel Forberger made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Otto Steffel sent off a good shot on target. 47 minutes in the game, Thomas van der Walt fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Marcel Forberger having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Thomas van der Walt to strike the kick off in the second half. Marcel Forberger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thomas van der Walt in the 53rd minute of play. A collision led to CA Boca Juniors getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Louis Rittel hit a great ball. In the 60th minute Thomas van der Walt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcel Forberger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thorsten Tünnissen hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. CA Boca Juniors's Tobias Schmitt-Illert was substituted for Louis Rittel. After 65 played minutes CA Boca Juniors got a freekick which was hit by Thorsten Tünnissen. In the 66th minute, Sami Lutz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Batho Schebesta was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 67 minutes had been played. A collision led to CA Boca Juniors getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Batho Schebesta hit a great ball. 69 minutes into the match, Otto Steffel notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of CA Boca Juniors's Marcel Forberger. Marcel Forberger was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Marcel Forberger showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Otto Steffel in the 72nd minute of the match. Tobias Schmitt-Illert sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the CA Boca Juniors defense, Thomas van der Walt kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcel Forberger. The CA Boca Juniors fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcel Forberger should have stopped the shot. When Christoph Hensel fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored CA Boca Juniors's protests and gave Christoph Hensel a yellow card for diving instead. In the 89th minute, Christoph Hensel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 90 minutes into the match, Fokus Cölbe's Sami Lutz broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After 91 played minutes CA Boca Juniors got a freekick which was hit by Bernd Bartsch. Tobias Schmitt-Illert sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Tobias Schmitt-Illert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The Fokus Cölbe players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
