CA Boca Juniors's Marcel Forberger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wim Roye in the 21st minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in CA Boca Juniors's zone, Wilhelm Bauer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcel Forberger came out of the goal and Wilhelm Bauer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Louis Rittel hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. The supporters of Baumminator booed when CA Boca Juniors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leo Kafka didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wilhelm Bauer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 29th minute, Wim Roye left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Baumminator fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. CA Boca Juniors's Louis Rittel managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Wilhelm Bauer in the 32 minute of the game. Wolf Steckamp kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. In the 46th minute, Philipp Della hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Baumminator's Rudi Carlos was substituted for Karsten Krickel. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ergün Molau stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
