Lokomotiv USSR's Olaf Peekhaus proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Lokomotiv USSR from getting a goal against them. When Hüseyin-Kenan Lautwein came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Vinnum City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hüseyin-Kenan Lautwein couldn't finish the play. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind Lokomotiv USSR's goalkeeper Olaf Peekhaus, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Olaf Landgraf in the 20th minute of play forced Vinnum City's goalkeeper Leo Schnackenberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gerd Klassen might have been able to make a better finish in the 22nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Olaf Peekhaus. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gerd Klassen ran back to his position shaking his head. Anders Kamp sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 25 minutes, Ole Baur mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lokomotiv USSR and the Vinnum City players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 25th match minute, Lokomotiv USSR was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ole Baur to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Vinnum City booed when Lokomotiv USSR was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olaf Landgraf didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 30th match minute, Lokomotiv USSR was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anders Kamp to maneuver through the defense. Olaf Peekhaus came out of the goal in the 32nd minute to try and stop a shot by Vinnum City's Harry Rybarczyk. But to his dismay, Harry Rybarczyk quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Leo Schnackenberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ben Kirschner in the 37th minute of play. In the 38th minute Olaf Landgraf shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leo Schnackenberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arno Just's late challenge caught a Lokomotiv USSR's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Arno Just helped the player get up and apologised. Arno Just hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. In the 46th minute, Frank Gercke ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Leo Schnackenberg was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gerd Klassen stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Olaf Landgraf got free with Leo Schnackenberg in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 58 minutes into the game, Olaf Landgraf recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Leo Schnackenberg. Olaf Landgraf showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Gerd Klassen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 63 minutes, Anders Kamp managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lokomotiv USSR's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anders Kamp was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Gerd Klassen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 71 minutes into the match, Vinnum City's goal looked a bit too open when Ole Baur came free, but Leo Schnackenberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Lokomotiv USSR defense, Gerd Klassen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Olaf Peekhaus. The Lokomotiv USSR fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Olaf Peekhaus should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Vinnum City booed when Lokomotiv USSR was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olaf Landgraf didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vinnum City's Leo Schnackenberg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save Vinnum City from getting a goal against them. Anders Kamp sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
