Morgan Hensel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulo Lendaa, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Ernst Holthuis charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. After recieving a nice pass, Ottrau's Ernst Holthuis tried to score from far away in the 31st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Fulko Pressel's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 32ndth minute, Conrado Medeiros skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Conrado Medeiros made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jork Fechner in the 35th minute. If Paulo Lendaa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Peppo Petershagen in the 55th minute of play forced Ottrau's goalkeeper Morgan Hensel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Paulo Lendaa got free with Morgan Hensel in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 58 minutes into the game, Martin Bergsohn was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ottrau's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Guti the free kick. After some careless play in the Guti defense, Fulko Pressel kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Conrado Medeiros. The Guti fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Conrado Medeiros should have stopped the shot. 65 minutes into the match, Guti's goal looked a bit too open when Jork Fechner came free, but Conrado Medeiros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Guti's Conrado Medeiros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fulko Pressel in the 68th minute of play. After 69 played minutes Guti got a freekick which was hit by Max Grammelspacher.
