Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) 6 minutes into the match, Karsten Lewandowski notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Karlsruher SC's Eugen Gelb. Eugen Gelb was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a little luck, Merdingen FC's Werner Walser got control of the ball when Josef Trachsel tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 13th minute, one of Merdingen FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Merdingen FC. Karsten Lewandowski recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Merdingen FC's Karsten Lewandowski got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Nicholas Daus managed to get in a good position for a shot. Merdingen FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Nicholas Daus was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eugen Gelb breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Eugen Gelb showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicholas Daus, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. After 26 played minutes Karlsruher SC got a freekick which was hit by Holger Wohlert. Nicholas Daus struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Eugen Gelb didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Merdingen FC. In the 32nd match minute, Karlsruher SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ferit Winand to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Karlsruher SC getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Nils Rauh hit a great ball. When Merdingen FC's Karsten Lewandowski in the 39th minute got a chance for a shot 39th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Karlsruher SC's goalie prevented a goal. Werner Walser stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Conni Tetzner's shot from short distance in the 46th minute.

Conni Tetzner's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Werner Walser read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. Josef Trachsel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nicholas Daus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eugen Gelb having to interfere. Werner Walser showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Josef Trachsel, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. In the 69th minute, Conni Tetzner left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Karlsruher SC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Kurt Radbruch hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. After 73 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Merdingen FC! The referee gave Karlsruher SC a penalty, 74 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Heinz-Gerd Horsmann, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Merdingen FC's Werner Walser. 3-1. After 78 played minutes Karlsruher SC got a freekick which was hit by Conni Tetzner. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Conni Tetzner in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Werner Walser saved Merdingen FC from getting behind. 81 minutes into the match, Karlsruher SC's goal looked a bit too open when Karsten Lewandowski came free, but Eugen Gelb reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Conni Tetzner recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nicholas Daus's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 92ndth minute, Eugen Gelb skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. If Josef Trachsel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Conni Tetzner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee ended the match the Karlsruher SC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
