Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Conni Tetzner made the kick off and thus started the match. When Noel Bodin fell near the penalty area in the 2nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Eintracht Emden's protests and gave Noel Bodin a yellow card for diving instead. 4 minutes into the game, Conni Tetzner recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Dan Degdau. Conni Tetzner showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Dan Degdau made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Ferit Winand sent off a good shot on target. Cem Retelsdorf kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. After 12 played minutes Eintracht Emden got a freekick which was hit by Noel Bodin. During the 15th minute of the match Cem Retelsdorf completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Cem Retelsdorf a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Karlsruher SC booed when Eintracht Emden was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cem Retelsdorf didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 18 minutes of play, Eintracht Emden's Merten Boxberger made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Eugen Gelb was left in no man's land by his defense there! Emil Schöpf recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, Eintracht Emden's Dan Degdau got control of the ball when Emil Schöpf tried to sneak it across the goal line. Dan Degdau was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Josef Trachsel showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 30 minute of play. Eugen Gelb made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastian Lausen in the 37th minute of play. 42 minutes into the match, Conni Tetzner notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Eintracht Emden's Dan Degdau. Dan Degdau was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 46 minutes into the game, Arik Beloch was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Eintracht Emden's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Karlsruher SC the free kick. After 47 played minutes, Karlsruher SC's Heinz-Gerd Horsmann shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Dan Degdau came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Karlsruher SC reached it.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sebastian Lausen stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Dan Degdau showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Josef Trachsel in the 52nd minute of the match. Eintracht Emden's Dan Degdau played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Conni Tetzner in the 53rd minute of play. Eugen Gelb showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manfred Plücken, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. In the 57th minute, Spike Häberle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Manfred Plücken received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Eugen Gelb tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Georg Bettinger in the 67th minute of play forced Eintracht Emden's goalkeeper Dan Degdau to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dan Degdau took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Josef Trachsel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Karlsruher SC booed when Eintracht Emden was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Merten Boxberger didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dan Degdau showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emil Schöpf in the 76th minute of the match. 82 minutes into the game, Merten Boxberger was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. In the 84th minute, Josef Trachsel left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Karlsruher SC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. Dan Degdau made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Josef Trachsel in the 87th minute of play. A collision led to Karlsruher SC getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Emil Schöpf hit a great ball. If Sebastian Lausen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 97 minutes into the match, Josef Trachsel notched a goal, 5-1, to the right of Eintracht Emden's Dan Degdau. Dan Degdau was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The Karlsruher SC support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
