Adrian Niklaus took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Josef Trachsel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind Artige frei Denker's goalkeeper Adrian Niklaus, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Josef Trachsel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Artige frei Denker booed when Karlsruher SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nils Rauh didn't get a good kick on the ball. Conni Tetzner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adrian Niklaus having to interfere. Karlsruher SC's Josef Trachsel got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Conni Tetzner in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Adrian Niklaus prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The Karlsruher SC fans' excitement grew in the 31st match minute when Karlsruher SC's Conni Tetzner looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Adrian Niklaus took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Conni Tetzner, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Josef Trachsel succeeded in the game's 41st minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-4. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Conni Tetzner stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Artige frei Denker's Adrian Niklaus got control of the ball when Josef Trachsel tried to sneak it across the goal line. Conni Tetzner received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Adrian Niklaus came out and tried to block the shot, but Conni Tetzner slotted it home off the left post making it 0-5 in the 53rd minute. In the 57th minute, Nils Rauh hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 59 minutes into the match, Artige frei Denker's goal looked a bit too open when Conni Tetzner came free, but Adrian Niklaus reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 62 minutes, Josef Trachsel made it 0-6 with a short kick to the right side. Artige frei Denker's Adrian Niklaus tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Adrian Niklaus made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Conni Tetzner in the 71st minute of play. Artur Heiermann charged in rather forcefully in the 73rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Artur Heiermann the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Artige frei Denker getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Artur Heiermann hit a great ball. In the 78th minute, Heinz-Gerd Horsmann fired a really elegant long shot, but Adrian Niklaus threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. Nils Rauh kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Georg Bettinger made in the 83rd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Artige frei Denker's Niklas Trener. Conni Tetzner received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Adrian Niklaus tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Artige frei Denker getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Siegmund Milch hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Conni Tetzner in the 87th minute of play forced Artige frei Denker's goalkeeper Adrian Niklaus to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Karlsruher SC's Conni Tetzner in the 88th minute got a chance for a shot 88th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Artige frei Denker's goalie prevented a goal. Kilian Assmann recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Aaron Merkmann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eugen Gelb having to interfere. When the match was over Karlsruher SC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Artige frei Denker throughout the match.
