The audience thought a goal was coming when Elmar Appelt got free with Adrian Niklaus in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Klemens Lüdemann in the 24th minute of play forced Rosenfeld's goalkeeper Rudolf Harnack to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Artige frei Denker booed when Rosenfeld was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Boris Demitter didn't get a good kick on the ball. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Louis Mackowiak's late challenge caught a Rosenfeld's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Louis Mackowiak helped the player get up and apologised. In the 47th minute of the match Timotheus Decius shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Adrian Niklaus showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

Rudolf Harnack was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Artige frei Denker's Adrian Niklaus played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lukas Hutterer in the 94th minute of play. Artige frei Denker's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
