Morten Trittin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Akira Pfau hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Dötlingen FSV's Max Rühle got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. FC Peging's Morten Trittin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leif-Eric Dapp in the 37th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 38 minutes, Ekkehard Störmer put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Egil Zillen. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Leif-Eric Dapp was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Heinrich Furchner managed to get in a good position for a shot. Egil Zillen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Max Rühle could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Morten Trittin made a huge save. Ekkehard Störmer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Heinrich Furchner in the 66th minute of play forced Dötlingen FSV's goalkeeper Egil Zillen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ekkehard Störmer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 71stth minute of the game Ekkehard Störmer who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Dötlingen FSV's Egil Zillen was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Ekkehard Störmer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Egil Zillen was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. FC Peging had played much better football throughout.
