When Eugen Schwarze came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the FC Midgard fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eugen Schwarze couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Fc Arndissimo's zone, Todor Vaskov stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gerrit Kranz came out of the goal and Todor Vaskov tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Todor Vaskov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Gerrit Kranz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eugen Schwarze fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gerrit Kranz having to interfere. Horst Birnstiel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joachim Malsch, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Oskar Branke during the 41st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eiko Burtscher was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of FC Midgard booed when Fc Arndissimo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albert Scheepers didn't get a good kick on the ball.
