After some careless play in the Borussia Dortmund defense, Emmerich Olowka kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hubert Päßler. The Borussia Dortmund fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hubert Päßler should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Polonia Sinzing's zone, Andreas Bar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arne Pingel came out of the goal and Andreas Bar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 16th match minute, Polonia Sinzing was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Reinhold Lachmann to maneuver through the defense. Polonia Sinzing's Arne Pingel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Polonia Sinzing from getting a goal against them. 20 minutes into the game, Wendelin Schaffer was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Polonia Sinzing's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Borussia Dortmund the free kick. The supporters of Borussia Dortmund booed when Polonia Sinzing was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wendelin Schaffer didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arne Pingel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aron Seyller, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 23 played minutes Polonia Sinzing got a freekick which was hit by Wendelin Schaffer. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Slavoj Ukrainets in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arne Pingel saved Polonia Sinzing from getting behind. Ole Neuling received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Hubert Päßler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 29th minute, John Noffke hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 31 minutes into the match, Slavoj Ukrainets had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Arne Pingel. Polonia Sinzing's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Slavoj Ukrainets was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Pío Daneri struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Arne Pingel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Borussia Dortmund. 44 minutes into the game, Borussia Dortmund's Pío Daneri nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Arne Pingel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Emmerich Olowka received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Hubert Päßler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Emmerich Olowka stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute, 曲风平 ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Arne Pingel was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Arne Pingel came out of the goal in the 62nd minute to try and stop a shot by Borussia Dortmund's Slavoj Ukrainets. But to his dismay, Slavoj Ukrainets quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. After a rather tough play, Polonia Sinzing's Ronald Vohwinkel got a free kick in the 69th minute. Arne Pingel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from 曲风平, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wendelin Schaffer hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Polonia Sinzing's Arne Pingel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Slavoj Ukrainets in the 77th minute of play. Arne Pingel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from 曲风平 in the 80th minute of play. 81 minutes into the match, Polonia Sinzing's goal looked a bit too open when Pío Daneri came free, but Arne Pingel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 91 minutes into the game, Borussia Dortmund's 曲风平 nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Arne Pingel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-1. There was no doubt that Borussia Dortmund were the better team. Borussia Dortmund's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
