With a couple of smart ball manuevers Iker Kliesch in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Matti Heidsiek saved Dynamo Grimma from getting behind. After having played for 9 minutes, Ferdinand Koeppen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dynamo Grimma's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ferdinand Koeppen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 13th match minute, Dynamo Grimma was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Asbjörn Hotzy to maneuver through the defense. Iker Kliesch sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Matti Heidsiek didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Trutz Rathje went, in the 17th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Sébastien Zach recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Olaf Nordmann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hernan Boskamp having to interfere. Hernan Boskamp made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Ted Falter sent off a good shot on target. After 26 played minutes Dynamo Grimma got a freekick which was hit by Oleg Boshold. When the match had gone on for 32 minutes, Heini Plath put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Matti Heidsiek. Ferdinand Koeppen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Hernan Boskamp made a huge save. Matti Heidsiek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Heini Plath in the 40th minute of play. Ferdinand Koeppen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hernan Boskamp showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ferdinand Koeppen in the 43rd minute of the match. 45 minutes into the match, Iker Kliesch had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Matti Heidsiek. Dynamo Grimma's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Iker Kliesch was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

Dynamo Grimma's Asbjörn Hotzy quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Pit Theiss, made in the 60th minute of the game. Ferdinand Koeppen took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 65th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Hernan Boskamp. Gönnjamin FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The supporters of Dynamo Grimma booed when Gönnjamin FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pit Theiss didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ferdinand Koeppen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Adé Hinz's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Matti Heidsiek firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 78th minute, Olaf Nordmann got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ferdinand Koeppen scored 1-3 in the 82nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hernan Boskamp, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Heini Plath fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Matti Heidsiek having to interfere. A collision led to Gönnjamin FC getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Ralf Dülfer hit a great ball. Dynamo Grimma's defense didn't have a chance, in the 91st minute, when Adé Hinz scored to the left of an out of position Matti Heidsiek, making the score, 1-4. After 93 played minutes Gönnjamin FC got a freekick which was hit by Adé Hinz. Ted Falter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gönnjamin FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
