After 10 minutes, Todor Vaskov made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Poggenkrug's Albert Surkemper tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience was convinced that Todor Vaskov's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Albert Surkemper was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. Albert Surkemper showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Todor Vaskov in the 15th minute of the match. Albert Surkemper didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eugen Schwarze went, in the 17th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. 20 minutes into the match, FC Midgard's goal looked a bit too open when Dennis Winkels came free, but Horst Birnstiel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eugen Schwarze sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Eugen Schwarze had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 35 played minutes FC Midgard got a freekick which was hit by Claus Holsing. Albert Surkemper came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Midgard's Claus Holsing. But to his dismay, Claus Holsing quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. When Todor Vaskov came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the FC Midgard fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Todor Vaskov couldn't finish the play. Poggenkrug's Albert Surkemper played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Todor Vaskov in the 45th minute of play. 46 minutes into the game, Dimo Schiefer cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Horst Birnstiel was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Walther Waidler to strike the kick off in the second half. Albert Surkemper made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Eugen Schwarze sent off a good shot on target. Jordan Neuss charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jordan Neuss the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Poggenkrug booed when FC Midgard was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jordan Neuss didn't get a good kick on the ball. Heinrich Belzner sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leif-Eric Mehlbaum charged in rather forcefully in the 61st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. A collision led to Poggenkrug getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Heinrich Belzner hit a great ball. In the 85th minute, Uwe Borcherding hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Todor Vaskov in the 89th minute of play forced Poggenkrug's goalkeeper Albert Surkemper to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
