Stefan Nülle came out of the goal in the 11th minute to try and stop a shot by Dynamo Grimma's Ted Falter. But to his dismay, Ted Falter quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Stefan Nülle showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ferdinand Koeppen in the 16th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ted Falter in the 18th minute of play forced FC Lewix's goalkeeper Stefan Nülle to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 41 minutes, Shawn Hambrecht mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Lewix and the Dynamo Grimma players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 41 played minutes FC Lewix got a freekick which was hit by Shawn Hambrecht. When Dynamo Grimma's Ferdinand Koeppen in the 44th minute got a chance for a shot 44th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC Lewix's goalie prevented a goal. Stefan Nülle stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ferdinand Koeppen's shot from short distance in the 48th minute.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ferdinand Koeppen made a kick off. After having played for 53 minutes, Ferdinand Koeppen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dynamo Grimma's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ferdinand Koeppen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, FC Lewix's Joschi Röhm got a free kick in the 56th minute. Stefan Nülle showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ferdinand Koeppen in the 58th minute of the match. Dynamo Grimma's Matti Heidsiek played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joschi Röhm in the 60th minute of play. 69 minutes into the match, Ted Falter had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Stefan Nülle. FC Lewix's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ted Falter was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. In the 72nd minute, Eike Hain left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Lewix fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. Eike Hain sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Matti Heidsiek didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Joschi Röhm went, in the 78th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. After having played for 80 minutes, Eike Hain managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Lewix's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eike Hain was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Matti Heidsiek stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eike Hain's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. Matti Heidsiek showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joschi Röhm, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Adam Feil kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Hannes Ducke was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 96 minutes into the match. The referee gave Dynamo Grimma a penalty, 98 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Ferdinand Koeppen, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of FC Lewix's Stefan Nülle. 3-3.
