If Dennis Winkels had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Poggenkrug's Willi Bach got a free kick in the 8th minute. After having played for 9 minutes, Emmerich Olowka managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Polonia Sinzing's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emmerich Olowka was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 12th minute Ole Neuling shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Albert Surkemper saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ulf Oesterreich got free with Arne Pingel in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 16 minutes, Ole Neuling managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Polonia Sinzing's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ole Neuling was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 17 minutes of play, Polonia Sinzing's Ole Neuling made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Albert Surkemper was left in no man's land by his defense there! Arne Pingel made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Dimo Schiefer sent off a good shot on target. Klaus Jauss kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Arne Pingel was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Willi Bach. In the 26th match minute, Polonia Sinzing was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Klaus Jauss to maneuver through the defense. In the 29th minute Walther Waidler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arne Pingel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Emmerich Olowka was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute, Dennis Winkels hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 53 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Polonia Sinzing! The referee gave Poggenkrug a penalty, 55 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Willi Bach, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Polonia Sinzing's Arne Pingel. 2-1. Holm Bansemir received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Albert Surkemper tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wendelin Schaffer kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Arne Pingel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Walther Waidler in the 64th minute of play. In the 65th minute Dimo Schiefer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arne Pingel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 72nd minute Walther Waidler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arne Pingel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 73 minutes into the game, Poggenkrug's Dennis Winkels nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. When Wendelin Schaffer came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Polonia Sinzing fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wendelin Schaffer couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Dennis Winkels managed to get in a good position for a shot. Poggenkrug's supporters rose to their feet, but Dennis Winkels was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arne Pingel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 89 minutes into the match, Dimo Schiefer notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of Polonia Sinzing's Arne Pingel. Arne Pingel was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 93rd minute of the match Patrick Wolter shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Arne Pingel showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Emmerich Olowka's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Albert Surkemper was relentless in the 95th minute of the game. The crowd rose to their feet as Emmerich Olowka kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Albert Surkemper. That made the score 4-2 in the 99 minute of play. Poggenkrug were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Polonia Sinzing for a fine match.
