The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Karl Urgien charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Karl Urgien the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 3rd minute of the game. One of Poggenkrug:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of 1.FC Mehlesdorf:s goal. 1.FC Mehlesdorf's Thilo Borgelt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save 1.FC Mehlesdorf from getting a goal against them. 1.FC Mehlesdorf were furious when Robert Möllmann was red carded, 12 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 11th minute of the game. One of 1.FC Mehlesdorf:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Poggenkrug:s goal. In the 16th minute, Gunther Polder got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 17 minutes, Walt Brand mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Poggenkrug and the 1.FC Mehlesdorf players grew even worse after the yellow card. Gunther Polder's late challenge caught a Poggenkrug's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gunther Polder helped the player get up and apologised. Gunther Polder kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Thilo Borgelt made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Albert Surkemper sent off a good shot on target. After 25 minutes of play, Poggenkrug's Albert Surkemper made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Thilo Borgelt was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience thought a goal was coming when Albert Surkemper got free with Thilo Borgelt in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Through an outstanding action, after 29 minutes, Thilo Borgelt successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Thilo Borgelt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Walt Brand, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 41st minute Per Gulden shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Schnorrer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Per Gulden struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Marco Schnorrer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for 1.FC Mehlesdorf. Gunther Polder sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thilo Borgelt made an important save on a dangerous shot by Albert Surkemper in the 48th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Patrick Wolter made the kick off in the second half. Albert Surkemper took the ball and in the 52 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Thilo Borgelt. Thilo Borgelt dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. Thilo Borgelt came out of the goal in the 55th minute to try and stop a shot by Poggenkrug's Albert Surkemper. But to his dismay, Albert Surkemper quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. Sonny Bernard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 64th minute, 1.FC Mehlesdorf's Sonny Bernard ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Marco Schnorrer. Marco Schnorrer yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 5-2. The supporters of 1.FC Mehlesdorf booed when Poggenkrug was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Walt Brand didn't get a good kick on the ball. Erwin Lüthje made in the 74th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by 1.FC Mehlesdorf's Gunther Polder. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gunther Polder got free with Marco Schnorrer in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 76th minute Patrick Wolter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thilo Borgelt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patrick Wolter in the 86th minute of play forced 1.FC Mehlesdorf's goalkeeper Thilo Borgelt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sonny Bernard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Walt Brand was shown his second yellow card after 88 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Walt Brand kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Enrico Krause managed to get in a good position for a shot. 1.FC Mehlesdorf's supporters rose to their feet, but Enrico Krause was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marco Schnorrer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marco Schnorrer didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 92nd minute, which inside left pole to 5-3. Albert Surkemper received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Thilo Borgelt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Poggenkrug's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
